Buck Badum owns the Hotel Cucaracha, the bank and the
sheriff. Along with Conchita, he cheats the townspeople. Enter Aunt Victoria and her nephew, Henry. They have the
deed to the Tottering Mine Shaft to present to Alice Sweepup, a slave at the hotel. Buck convinces Conchita she must
pretend to be Alice and the hilarity begins! Henry's hero is Zorro, and he decides to impersonate the legend to
protect the downtrodden. Conchita decides to double-cross Buck, and Zorro must rescue Alice!
A story of two worthy widows whose livelihood depends on a coal
mine that has been left to them. The lovely daughter of one widow is engaged to the son of the other, and when it develops
that the villainous banker who holds a mortgage on the mine is going to foreclose, the girl seeks a precarious livelihood as
a schoolteacher. The young man goes to sea as a sailor but very soon is given up as lost. Meantime, the banker, seeking
not only to get the mine (in which silver has been discovered) into his hands, but the heroine as well, has spun his wicked
web so cleverly that he is on the point of success. But, just in time to save the widows and their children, amazing events
take place which bring success and happiness to all who so richly deserve them.

The play is set in Tuna, a mythical small town in West Texas,
where everyone listens to Radio OKKK, all 275 watts of it. Topping the headlines is the winning entry in the American
Heritage Essay Contest, entitled: "Human Rights, Why Bother?" Tuna's residents include a variety of eccentrics, bigots,
and oddballs . There's Aunt Pearl, who poisons the town's stray dogs; Vera Carp, the richest woman in town and vice president
of the Smut Snatchers club, and Didi Snavely, a gun shop owner, who decorates her Christmas tree with hand grenades.
